Harps $25.43 This included $16.52 for a beef tenderloin I had cut up into 9 steaks! These are a special buy on sale for only $3.99/lb. Not what I normally pay for meat, but since it's about to be Summer and we love to cook out (and I had the money in my budget) I thought these would be great to throw in the freezer! I also found a different Try Me Free Hillshire Farms Rebate package so I will get $3.99 back from that. (Total after rebate $21.44)
Aldi's $33.58 I got a lot of Fruit and Vegetables here. I also got Milk and Eggs as well as 5lbs. of Hamburger meat.
Walmart $22.89 I had several Free Product coupons that I used, and also got 2 Rebate items, one for Spray and Wash, the other for Macaroni & Cheese Crackers (Rebate Total $3.97) so I spent about $19.00 after rebates.
I cooked beef tenderloin for Easter last week. I had a friend that gave me an incredible recipe. SO good, so I thought I'd share....
ReplyDeleteStab your tenderloin and stuff it with garlic cloves
Cover with beef steak seasoning (what you would use on a roast)
Dry cook for about 2 hours at 350 until temp is 140.
Let cool.
Cut into thin slices
Put back into pan with any drippings
Pour 2-3 cups beef broth (I use 2-3 cups hot water and 2-3 beef bouillon cubes) Recook covered at 250 for 2-4+ hours until it is very tender and just falls apart.
You can serve on Italian rolls with the juice and it tastes like a Chicago Italian beef or with mashed potatoes and gravy. SO Good...
YUMMMMMM.... that sounds so good! I can't wait to try it. Thanks for sharing!
