Spring Clothes

I have a confession to make..... I don't always buy things for dirt cheap, in fact sometimes I like to splurge just because it's fun, or because I like something. I am the type of person that refuses to buy toothpaste unless I am making money, but I would also buy a designer pair of jeans because that's what I wanted (of course I would still use sales and save for my purchase before I bought it).

I view couponing and discount shopping as a way to be in control of my money. By spending as little as possible on the things I need it frees up my budget to sometimes splurge on the things that I want... make sense?????

Here are two examples of what I got today. Both purchases were about $30.00, in one purchase I got 2 items, in the other purchase I got 13 items.

I went to T.J. Maxx and found some adorable polo clothes for my little boy. This orange shirt was $12.99 (retail $24.99) and the Red and Blue One Piece outfit was also $12.99 (retail $35.99) so with tax I paid about $28.00

At Old Navy I used my $75/$100 coupon from last night to get some adorable stuff. Here's what I got:
2 Swimsuits
2 Swim shirts
2 Pair of shorts
2 Polo Shirts
2 Hats
2 T-shirts
1 Pair of Sweat Shorts
Total I spent $30.00 at Old Navy including tax! (that's an average of $2.30 each item) Now, if the weather would only warm up so my poor boy would have something to wear :)

  1. Exactly I save money in order to do things that we need or want to do. For instance I saved enough money for our family of 5 (the 6th is 1 1/2 so he is free) to get season passes for Silver Dollar City.

  2. I'm the same way - I like to save on household/cleaning/toiletries to pay for spa facials!
