Saving on Your Phone Bill

Once I started this blog, everywhere I go people started telling me of all the great ways they save money! This is great because not only does it help me, but I get to pass those ideas along to you.

I got an email the other day from one of the other moms in my MOPS group (actually she sent it to all the moms) letting me know that she had a new phone number and had switched to Magic Jack. I have heard about this online from some other blogs, but I thought since she had first hand experience with the product I would let her share with you how it works!

Here's what she had to say:

Well I first heard about the MagicJack on an email that I got in my Spam folder.
It said "Pay no more monthy phone bills".......so that got my interest!
I clicked on the email and it took me to their website...

Basically you pay a one-time cost of $39.95 to purchase the MagicJack device.
This also includes your first year of FREE local and long distance calling!! Yep you heard me right........No monthy bills to keep track of and pay on.
Just this one time fee and you're set for an entire year!!
It comes with a lot of other FREE features too like Call Waiting, Caller ID, Call Forwarding, Voicemail, Directory Assistance, 911 Emergency also avail.
You can even take the MagicJack with you if you travel, like to another country and call back to anyone in the US and it's FREE!!

It all sounded so good that my husband and I thought we'd give it a try.......what do we have to lose?? Then if you choose to renew for the next year, it's only $19.95 and that's for a whole year!

We purchased ours at Radio Shack here in Springdale.........Most Radio Shacks here in NW AR showed to keep it in stock!

The website did offer a 30 FREE Trial which you won't get if you buy it here locally, but we thought it was worth trying out!
We've only had it not quite a month and so far it's worked really good for us!
Your phone system is then set up thru your computer.

Here's all you need......
1. A computer with an avail USB port
2. Windows XP, Vista, or Mac (Intel Chip)
3. One of the following: Broadband, High-Speed Internet, Cable Internet, DSL, Wi-Fi, WiMax, or FiOS.

I think this is quickly becoming one of my favorite days, because I love hearing all your great ideas! You know the drill, I post a question, and you let me know your thoughts.

We all know that companies use high value coupons, sales, and free after rebate items to get us to try their products hoping that we will like them and purchase them in the future. But if you're like me by the time you run out of that product there i another new "free" item to take it's place.

Here's today's question:

What Free item have you gotten that you might actually pay for in the future?

I love the Glade Scented Oil Candles. I got a ton of these at Target before Christmas and the Apple Cinnamon is my favorite! I did actually pay $0.50 a box for the refills at Walgreens a month or so ago because I was out. :) However, now that we are on to the new Fragrance Collection Candles, I probably won't actually be paying for these again :)

What coupon do you wait for and ALWAYS clip????

This might be something that you use, or something you know you can get for Free if it goes on sale. Hopefully this will give everyone a good idea of what coupons to keep their eye out for.

Personally I LOVE to find high value Cereal Coupons like the $1.00/1 Kellogg's Coupons that were in the inserts last year, and I always cut out Colgate coupons because I know that I can make a little money with those.

Let me just tell you that I have had such a fun time sharing these deals with you over the past couple of months. I appreciate so much all of the new readers who are now following NWA Deals. I have heard from some of you, but I would love to hear more.
